18/10/2018 - I wish to express my opinion about the finest guest house I have come across as a sales representative who has traveled extensively in many provinces in South Africa. The Guest House De Loft situated in Piet Retief Mpumalanga has exceptional qualities rarely found elsewhere with regard to decor, comfort, outstanding warm hospitality and being a B and B serving a breakfast with a wide variety of fresh home made delicious treats to start the day. I recommend any traveler who needs to stay in Piet Retief to contact Marinda at De Loft Guest House for a truly enjoyable stay which will not be readily forgotten. Malcolm Wade

23/10/2018 - Marinda and Leon went out of their way to accommodate us after midnight after we were hijacked and assaulted. They even borrowed us their car to run our errands the next day. Truly wonderful people. And yes, the room was great and so the breakfast. Highly recommended. Nick Boshoff

Comment September 2020 - Wonderfully rustic and quaint. Marinda and Leon really go out of their way to make you feel at home. Rooms and Gardens are really well kept which extends to the front of the main reception house. The best part of the lodge is most definitely the kitchen area where guests are seated to enjoy breakfast which in itself is scrumptious. If you enjoy beef, request Marinda to have the team make their specialty beef "stir fry" which had a sweet and sour taste to it. Amazing. Donovan Govender
